Schneider Electric/Square D Recall 22-159

June 16th, 2022- the US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that Schneider electric had issued a recall of over 1.4 million electrical panels. The Square D QO Plug-On Neutral Load Center panel was sold at home improvement and hardware stores nationwide, and online, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Menard’s, from February 2020 through January 2022 (with date codes between 200561 and 220233) and have been determined to have a high risk of thermal burn and fire hazards. Outdoor units will have the manufacturing date code printed inside the cover, while the indoor units will not have the manufacturing date code listed where the consumer can access it. These panels are of various sizes and have been installed in residential homes, commercial establishments, and motorhomes.

Schneider Electric is contacting retailers, distributors, and homeowners who have purchased these panels. If you suspect that you have one of these panels, you are to contact Schneider Electric for a free inspection by a trained electrician to determine if a repair is needed.
